The Lenovo X60 Tablet Review

The IBM/Lenovo X60 Tablet is a well built top performer in the tablet class of laptops, it combined the top notch construction of the laptop, with the responsive touchscreen, available multi-touch muti-view screen and the full size functionality of this ultra portable laptop.
PROS
The pros on this Tablet/Notebook are among many other things, the light weight in the first place. Weighing only 3.80 pounds with a standard battery and 3.30 pounds without battery, it is easy to tote this laptop without effort.
Secondly, what I like about the ThinkPad X60 is the portability and design, which is essential for people that have the necessity of using this as a tablet [holding folded] more of the time; the screen automatically rotates in the direction that the tablet is held.
Some X60 models also come with a multi-touch screen feature, giving you the option of using either the stylus or your finger.
The system temperature is pretty warm; it does not blow very hot air through the fan cooler as many others do, and also the bottom of the notebook keeps pretty cool. Again, this is also a good thing for people that have to hold them in their arms as part of their work.
The characteristic uniform black color of the entire unit and the robust construction makes this notebook look new for its lifespan, without showing blemishes. This is because there is no another color material under the paint, it was made with a solid plastic material, leaving even the scratches imperceptible. Only the bottom base is made in metal-rubber-plastic compound that also is very hard to scratch and helps the system to keep cool since it acts as a huge heat dissipater.
The swivel screen hinge is also an A+ in this X60 model …more robust and steady than most all its competitor’s notebook/tablets.
The battery is another strong weapon as it is characteristic and well knownby its qualityand autonomy in all the ThinkPad models.
Neat and Tidy is how I think about this laptop, since all the connectors are located on the sides of the unit, avoiding messiness with the cables when it swivels. Also USB ports are located in both sides.
The two memory slots are combined in the same compartment, easy to reach, on the bottom base.
The unique single latch located in the center of the upper screen frame looks simple as well as strong. Lenovo offers a brilliant design feature here, since it works in two directions, when the unit is closed and when it is working as a tablet. In my years of experience as a repair technician, I noticed that the latches in the ThinkPad are one of the weak points in most of the non-tablet IBM/Lenovo notebooks, where there are two latches located on the left and right screen frame made with an easily breakable thin plastic…as is the case in the A22, T22, etc.
CONS:
The one-solo speaker located in the center front of the bottom base is poor of quality and lack of loudness. But this is likely not a problem for the target of people that this notebook is intended.
The X60 Tablet does not include a touchpad panel, some people feel the finger pointer is uncomfortable and harder to use. I have found that for most people it only takes a few days to get accustomed to the finger pointer.
